Another premium 5-star hotel is the Kempinski Hotel Bahia Marbella, renowned for its understated glamour and superb beach. A couple of years ago, it earned another accolade, as the hotel to exhibit the world’s most glamorously adorned and expensively bejewelled Christmas tree. The decorations and gems were valued at 15 million US dollars.
In 2022, the international hotel chain Ikos Resorts gave its seal of approval to the New Golden Mile, by investing in the region of 17€ million euros in the Ikos Andalusia. New suites, villas, terraces and swimming pools were part of the upgrade, making it one of the must-visit all-inclusive resorts on the Costa del Sol.
Golfers’ paradise
As part of the Costa del Golf, to use the Coast’s unofficial moniker, it is no surprise the New Golden Mile has an abundance of world-class golf courses. Together with the temperate all-year-round weather, these verdant undulating greens and the attendant social life, provide a superb lifestyle opportunity to visitors and residents alike.

Another of the many attractions of this area is that there is no danger of overdevelopment. The regional Government prohibits the construction of high-rise buildings on the New Golden Mile in Estepona in order to protect the integrity of the area.
